For the seventh consecutive year Lollapalooza 2011 will be held in Grant Park, Chicago. The August 5th-7th sold out show marks the 20th anniversary of the alternative music franchise.

The first Lollapalooza, intended as  Perry Farrell’s farewell to Jane’s Addiction festival, was held in 1991. An instant success, the festival continued touring each summer until 1997. After a 2003 reincarnation of the festival, the 2004 tour was canceled due to low ticket sales.
